Support Secured by the

Samuel Allen Pampel Foundation

2022

Our second annual Super Sam 5K and Dash raised enough fund to give $55,000 away to support community efforts in the fight against pediatric cancer! We again were able to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Camp iHope, and Candlelighters NYC. Two additional organizations we supported were Music Meets Medicine and Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Our “I AM” campaign continues and in 2022 has raised over $4,000 to date and spearheaded by our youngest supporters joining the fight. The funds raised by this campaign directly support emergency medical needs families are faced with as a result of a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

July 2022 funds supported a young boy who needed a prosthetic eye after having his removed due to cancer.

2021

Thanks to generous donations and support, the Samuel Allen Pampel Foundation was able to support 4 organizations that serve and support families facing their own pediatric cancer journey.

  • Alex's Lemonade Stand

The donation made from the SAPF supported 400 hours of research and combined with additional fundraising efforts through ALSF funded an Innovation Grant. These grants accelerate research into finding causes and cures for childhood cancers by providing critical seed funding for experienced investigators. Funding research into promising, novel approaches like these bring more treatment options to kids still in need of their cure.

  • Candlelighters NYC

The donation from the SAPF supported 55 families, providing dinner at a holiday party and gift cards to local markets. In addition Candlelighters will be able to purchase additional strollers for families to borrow that allow relief to even older patients who would have trouble walking the streets of NYC after a long day of treatment or procedures. Our family benefited from all these items first-hand while Sam was receiving treatment in New York. He was able to attend holiday events that provided lasting friendships for us, and local market gift cards helped ease the worry of finding food and nourishment for the family while traveling.

  • Camp iHope

Donations from the SAPF cover the cost for 10 campers to attend camp at no cost to the families. Campers at Camp iHope may be in active treatment for cancer, in remission or may be a sibling to a cancer patient. All have unique needs and Camp iHope provides a community where they are all accepted, emotionally and medically. Camp iHope has doctors and nurses on staff ensuring each camper can participate in traditional camp activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, and fishing while being able to gain confidence and independence despite their cancer journey.

  • North Texas Grief and Loss Center

The gift from SAPF supported: little sisters who lost their mom to cancer, a father who is suddenly a single parent to his children, four teens who lost their sibling in a car accident, a new mom who lost her husband to cancer just after giving birth, children whose sibling died from cancer and many more. The Grief and Loss Center enters lives after devastating death of a loved one, providing no-cost grief support through individual counseling and support groups. Laure Taylor, Executive Director, “It is a privilege to walk with children, teens and adults as they learn to live in a world without someone they love with all their hearts.”
